Setting up the keyboard

The ClipCard keyboard is an iOS extension, so iOS asks you to add it once:

• Open iOS Settings, then General, Keyboard, Keyboards, Add New Keyboard.
• Pick ClipCard under Third-Party Keyboards.
• While typing in any app, hold the globe key and choose ClipCard.

Do not enable Full Access, because there is nothing to enable: the extension does not request it, which is what keeps iOS blocking it from the network.

The keyboard opens with a 4-digit PIN. If you unlock the app with Face ID first, the keyboard stays open with it for a few minutes; you choose 1, 5 or 15 in the app settings. A keyboard extension cannot ask for Face ID itself, so the PIN is always there as the direct way in.

If a clip does not appear in the keyboard, check its switch under Settings, Keyboard. On the free plan 3 clips can be exposed at a time. Recovery phrases, BIP39 passphrases and 2FA secrets never appear there, on any plan.
